Reports v2: Net Sales

The Net Sales report is intended to provide a summary of Net Sales such as the revenue and financial statistics, grouped by Category like Channel, Room Class, Marketing Segment, etc.

This report also delivers Net bookings data, Net revenue data, and Performance statistics.

Stay on Date Range

Generates the Net Sales report based on the stay dates of the Guest Reservations.

The predefined options, along with a custom date picker for this field are -

  • All,
  • Today,
  • Last Week,
  • Month to Date, (Default Value)
  • Year to Date,
  • Last month,
  • Last year. 

Group Net Sales By

This field has 17 input options to group the report data, such as -

  • Channel, (Note: The “source” option is relabeled as “Channel”)
  • Corporate/Member Account,
  • Group,
  • Guest Profile Account,
  • Travel Agent,
  • Guest Country,
  • User Booked,
  • Consumption Day,
  • Booking day,
  • Market Segment,
  • Promo Code,
  • Rate Plan,
  • Referral,
  • Room Class,
  • Room Number,
  • State,
  • Zip Code.

Sort Report By

This field has 7 input options, such as -

  • Name,
  • Booking Nights %,
  • Total Revenue, (Default Value)
  • Cancel %,
  • Average Stay,
  • ADR,
  • RevPar.

Based on the selected option from the above list, the detailed view of the report data is sorted in ascending/descending order.

Group Rows By

This field has 5 input options, such as -

  • Day,
  • Week,
  • Month,
  • Year, 
  • Days of a Week.

Based on the selected option from the above list, the data in the detailed view of the report is grouped and displayed accordingly.

Booked on Date Range

Generates the report with reservations that are booked during a certain date range, as selected by the user.

The list of options is the same as for the 'Stay on Date Range' field.

Include Inactive  and Obsolete Rooms

To include/exclude the inactive and obsolete rooms data from the Net sales report.

Exclude periods with Zero Sales

Turn this input OFF, to see time periods/dates, that had zero sales

 

 

Output

The output section is divided into Summary and Detailed views, with Tooltips on each column header to explain what the data in it signifies.

Net Bookings

Displays the net booking calculations for each 'Group Net Sales by' category, for the specified date range

Net Reservations

Total Reservations minus Total Cancellations

Net Room Nights

Total Reserved Nights minus Total Cancelled Nights

Booking Nights %

Net Nights for a specific 'Grouped by' category, divided by the Total Net Nights multiplied by a 100

Net Revenue

Displays Net Revenue details, for each 'Group Net Sales by' category, for the specified date range

Room Revenue

Total revenue generated by the ledger account type “Room Charge”

Other Revenue

Total revenue generated by the ledger account type “Incidentals and Fees” (Folio Items)

Total Revenue

A sum of Room Revenue and Other Revenue

Performance

Displays the Performance metrics of the property, for each 'Group Net Sales by' category, for the specified date range

Cancel %

Total cancellations divided by corresponding Total Reservations multiplied by a 100

Avg Stay

An average number of days, the guests stay at the hotel during the selected time range. It is calculated by the Number of Net Room nights divided by the Number of Net Bookings

Avg Daily Rate

Room Revenue divided by Net Room Nights

RevPAR

Room Revenue divided by Total Rooms (excluding out of order rooms)

Detailed View

A detailed view of Net Sales based on the selections made.

The data columns are similar to the Summary view table. In the above example, the Net Sales are grouped by 'Room Class' for each 'Week'.

Another example, where the Net Sales are generated by State and the Bookings, Revenue, and Performance are grouped by each Day.

Notes

  • # Of Reservations on Net Sales
    • Net Sales by Days Consumed, the # of Reservations calculation includes the # of stay over reservations.
    • In order to get the total amount of Reservations (excluding stayovers) for a date or range of dates, you may use the Month Consumed category.
