Do Not Rent - Block Unwanted Guests

The innRoad system allows you to flag guest profiles, that you want to block from staying at your property in the future.  For example, if a guest causes damage to a room or doesn't obey property policies you can flag their profile so you know not to rent to them in the future.  Setting the Do Not Rent flag facilitates 2 methods of blocking a guest (as covered later in this article):

  1. innCenter:  If you attempt to add a "Do Not Rent" profile to a reservation a warning will be displayed.

  2. Booking Engine:  You can configure your booking engine to automatically block a guest who enters an email address and phone number that is linked to a guest that has been flagged as "Do Not Rent" 

Note:  In order to block a guest from rebooking on an OTA, you must contact the OTA directly.  Here are a few helpful links.


Here are details on how to flag a guest as "Do Not Rent" and how this works in innCenter and the Booking Engine.

Guest Profile

A guest profile can now be flagged as “Do Not Rent”. This helps you to flag guests you no longer wish to stay at your property. Simply open the guest profile and click the "Do Not Rent" toggle.



When the toggle in set to “On”, a pop-up will ask for your confirmation.



 On clicking “YES”, this guest profile will be flagged as Do Not Rent.  The profile can be unmarked anytime by turning the toggle “OFF”.


innCenter Reservations

innCenter will help you detect unwanted guests in 2 ways:


Associating an Existing Profile
When you are adding a guest profile to a reservation, and searching for their profile, any guests marked as Do Not Rent will be highlighted in Red as seen below:
 


If a Do Not Rent profile is selected, a pop-up will appear asking you if you wish to continue:



 

 

Creating a New Guest 

While creating a new guest, if an email address and/or Phone number that is associated with a Do Not Rent guest profile is entered, the profile will be highlighted.

 

 

Booking Engine

Do Not Rent Setting for Booking Engine

A new “Do Not Rent” setting has been added to the Booking Engine Configuration Settings tab, which allows you to block unwanted guests from completing a reservation on the Booking Engine.  To set this flag, navigate to your Booking Engine configuration page (Setup --> Properties --> Options Tab --> Scroll Down and Click Booking Engine configuration link

 



When a guest creates a reservation the system will check to see if a profile exists for that guest .

  • Off (default):  When setting is “OFF” a Do Not Rent guest is NOT prevented from creating a reservation.
  • On:  When setting is “ON”, the booking engine will block a reservation, if the first name, last name, email address and phone number matches a profile that is flagged as Do Not Rent.

When booking a reservation, the flagged guest will receive an error message as shown below:
