  • Revenue data for the Current , MTD (Month to date) , YTD (Year to date) are the Room Charges /Incidentals / Taxes  that been recorded with those dates. Meaning all of the Reservations for stays during that period of time

  • Total Receipts data for the Current , MTD , YTD as Payments taken during this period of time

Why are the amounts for Total Revenue and Total Receipts different?

  1. Payments / Total Receipts on the report can belong to Past and Future reservations not only Current reservations
    • For example, a guest left the hotel with a balance last month. This month they provide payment. The Payment will appear on the Current and MTD but the room revenue will remain on the previous month
    • 3 night Reservation checks in on July 31st total payment is taken upon check in. This payment will not appear on August’s MTD but the Room Revenue for August 1st and 2nd will

  1. Room Revenue for Current Date, MTD , YTD could have been paid for in the past. For example a prepaid reservation booked 1 year in advanced will have payment on the Total receipt for the previous year. The Room Revenue will be on the current year.

To ensure that payment has been collected for Room Revenue to past dates, you may use the report Account Balances to check for reservations that have balances due.
