Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication improves account security by requiring an additional passcode when a User logs in to their innRoad account from a new device. The passcode is emailed to the User, so anyone logging in must also have access to the email address their User ID login is attached to. This will be the same email address your password link and any "forgot password' emails are sent to.
2FA is the standard approach to login security in the industry, insuring that even if a User’s username and password are stolen, an unauthorized person cannot log in without access to the user’s email.
How it Works
- To log in, you will enter your client ID, User ID, and password in the login screen as usual.
- If our system does not “remember” you from a previous log-in or you are logging in from a new device (phone, tablet, laptop), an authentication code will be sent to your User ID email address.
- You will then be directed to the authentication code entry screen
- On the authentication code entry screen, you enter the authentication code from the email to complete your login
- You’re done! You won’t have to re-do authentication for 60 days, or until you clear cookies, update your browser, or log in with a new device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How often do I have to do this?
A: Once every 60 days, or after your browser has updated or cleared cookies.
Q: How long does the code work?
A: The authentication code is valid for 60 minutes
Q: Why isn’t my code working?
A: Is it the most recent code? If a new code is generated, any previous codes are no longer valid. If this is the case, an error message will inform the user.
Q: How quickly is the authentication code email sent?
A: The authentication code email is sent immediately, but on rare occasions may take a few minutes to arrive in your inbox.
Q: I don’t have access to my account email, so I can’t log in. Can you change my email?
A: If you do not have access to the email associated with your User ID, please contact your administrator to update your User ID. Administrators please contact innRoad Support for assistance.
