Creating a Weekly (Interval) Rate - Rates V2

Let’s Build a Weekly (Interval) New Rate

In this example rate I want to show you how to build a Weekly Rate.

In this example I would like it to have more lenient Deposit and Cancellation Policies since these guests have stayed with us before.  I would like there to be a promo code I can send my repeat guests so they can book online, other than that it will not be publicly listed.

  1. IF you will be creating different policies for this rate, please do that first.  “Creating Policies – Rates V2”  if you will use already created policies, you will be able to select from those and can go directly to the Rates Grid.mceclip0.png
  2. To the right click ADD RATE PLAN and select the INTERVAL RATE PLAN option.mceclip1.png
  3. Fill in the Blanks for the Rate Plan Name (Internally visible to you), Folio Display Nam (what is printed on the Guests Folio/Receipt), and Rate Plan Description (this will appear on the Booking Engine). mceclip2.png
  4. Click NEXT
  5. Select the Channels/Sources this Rate will be available to. For a Rack Rate this will typically be all of them; innCenter, innRoad Booking Engine, Expedia, Booking, Airbnb, HomeAway, GDS, etc.  For any other rate type it will be at your discretion. mceclip3.png
  6. Click NEXT
  7. Select the Room Classes you would like to include with this rate. If this is your Rack Rate you would want to include them all.  If you are building a Corporate Rate that only includes certain room classes, you would only include those.mceclip4.png
  8. Click NEXT
  9. Select any Restrictions you would like placed on this rate. For our Weekly Rate example, we would want to set the Minimum Length of Stay (MLOS) to 7.  If we also had Monthly rates, we could set the Max to 28 but that is not necessary.  If you will also require a Booking window or Promo Code you can add those toobb2.JPGmceclip5.png
  10. Click NEXT
  11.  Select the Policies you wish to apply to this rate. If you have multiple Deposit or Cancellation Policies, you will be able to select the specific one you would like.  These would apply broadly to the whole rate, again you will be able to update them per Room Class later in this process.mceclip6.png
  12. Click NEXT
  13. Review of what you have built before Clicking CREATE SEASON

Please make sure Room Class, Restrictions, and Policies is correct PRIOR to creating your Seasons. Once Seasons are made any changes made to the Rate will ONLY apply to any newly created Seasons.  To edit already created Seasons you would need to go into each Season.

As mentioned before IF you have a variety of Policies or Restrictions, we suggest you do NOT add them here, but add them by Season. For example, if you have different Cancelation policies for summer vs. winter or different Deposit policies for rooms vs cottages.

14. Click CREATE SEASON

15. Click your Season start date and End Date. Name your Season; Summer Midweek, Winter Weekend, 2020 Season, etc.mceclip8.png

  1.

     16. Click Create Season.

  2. 17. Start with the easy one and select the color you would like this Season to be. This will help you distinguish when rates change on the overall calendar.mceclip9.png

    18. RATES –
      1.  Toggle the “charge for additional adult/child” if your rates do not vary for the number of guests in the room. If they do the MAX Adults column will need to be changed to reflect how many guests are included in the Rate per Night box to the left.  The MAX persons is just to remind you how many guests the room is able to accommodate.mceclip10.png

         b. Adjust the Toggle off if your rates do not vary due to the number of guests in the room.mceclip11.png

        c. Enter the Nightly Rates

        d. If a certain room is not available for this season you can click the checkmark next to that room and it will no longer appear.

19. RULES/RESTRICTIONS – If you have rules/restrictions that vary per Season you can adjust them here.  If they also vary by Room Class, you can Toggle the “Assign by room class” on and “Add 2nd set of rules”; for example, if your Weekly Rooms have a Minimum length of stay of 7 days and Weekly Cottages have a 14 night Minimum length of stay.   If your Rules/Restrictions DO NOT vary you can leave this section alone.mceclip12.png

20. POLICIES – Similar to the Rules/Restrictions - If you have Policies that vary per Season you can adjust them here. These are unable to vary by Room Class.  If your Rules/Restrictions DO NOT vary you can leave this section alone.

21. Click SAVE and continue making Seasons at Step 15 again.

22. When you are done or need to take a break, Click COMPLETE CHANGES.mceclip14.png

23. SAVE RATE PLAN – Save as Active will make this rate LIVE and bookable immediately. Save as Inactive will save what you have done so far, but the rate will not be available for use until you come back and Save as Active.  The only Rate you want as your DEFAULT RATE would be your Rack/Base Rate.  The default Rate is the one that appears on your Booking Engine and Tape Chart.mceclip15.png

24. This Rate will now appear in all your RATE PLAN dropdown boxes.

25. If you need to go back and make any edits or additions just return to the Rates Grid and Click the pencil next to the rate you wish to Edit or Add to.

26. If you are editing Policies, Rules, Restrictions for already created Seasons, you will need to do that within each season. Any changes made at the Rate Level will only affect any new seasons added after the changes.  mceclip16.png
