Options for cancelling a reservation without processing a refund

Here are a few options to help track credits to apply when guests re-book their reservations for a future date: 

1. Pay by Reservation
   1. Cancel the existing reservation > void the room charges > do not process the refund.
   2. You can use the “Pay by Reservation” when the guest is ready to use the credit from the cancelled reservation to the new reservation.

2. House Account
   1. Cancel the existing reservation > void the room charges > transfer the credit balance to a House Account under the guest's name. 
   2. When the guest is ready to use the credit from their House Account, transfer the balance due from the new reservation to their House Account by using their House Account as the payment method.

3. Gift Certificate 
   1. Cancel the existing reservation > void the room charges >transfer the credit balance to a House Account under the guest's name.
   2. Create a gift certificate > add the “gift certificate sale” as an incidental to the House Account to adjust the balance due.
