Setting up a per stay fee

To set up a per stay fee such as a cleaning fee or resort fee, follow these steps:

• Go to the Setup module > Ledger Accounts

• Add a new account for the Fee

• Go to the Setup module > Taxes & Fees
• Associate the new fee to any existing taxes that may be applicable to it
• Create the new fee > Click Create > Fee

• Fill out the information and select applicable fee criteria

• Restrict the fee to any room class, rate plan, or sources

• Repeat the steps for all necessary or additional fees

If you had your cleaning fee built as a bundled package rate in the past, you will need to deactivate the bundle to avoid duplicate fee charges.

• Go to Inventory > Rates > Packages Tab
• Inactivate those Cleaning Fee packages

• Then go to Inventory > Rates 
• Go into each rate to switch the Rate Type to Rooms Only (instead of Reference Only)

• Create a reservation to test the new fee

Important!

If you have a direct connection with Airbnb, fees should not include the Airbnb source. If Airbnb is included as a source, there will be duplicate fees charged to the guest. When setting up your fee, be sure to select each individual source and exclude Airbnb. 

Airbnb adds fees based off the fees section of the Listing Info in the Setup module > Room Classes > Channel Specific Information.
