How to assign a Room Number for an Unassigned reservation

Sometimes, reservations are created as an Unassigned reservation. This means that the reservation is taking up availability of the room class, but not for a specific room number. This could happen when:

  • An OTA reservation is created, but the same room is not available for the entire range of dates.
  • A room was not assigned when creating the reservation.
  • The booking engine is configured to create reservations without assigning rooms.

How to Assign a Room Number via Reservation Details:

  • Open the Reservation
  • Click the pencil icon next to Stay Info
  • Select Assign room number
  • Click the Room Number dropdown
  • Assign the Room Number 
    • Room Statuses:
      • C- Clean
      • I - Inspection
      • D - Dirty
  • Click Save to apply changes.


How to Assign a Room Number via the Tape Chart:

  • Go to Tape Chart
  • Click Unassigned to see a list of Unassigned reserations:
  • You will see the reservation on the right panel with the room class abbreviation and Stay Dates:
  • Click and hold the reservation, and drag it to the desired room.

  • Click Confirm Changes to apply the new room.
