Tape Chart Overview

The Tape Chart is a visual calendar that shows room availability, reservations, room conditions, and search options. It helps you view open rooms, understand reservation status, see your occupancy and make quick edits to reservations , and room assignments.




Date & Search Panel

The Date and Search section allows you to:

  • Select check-in and check-out dates
  • Enter number of adults
  • Click “Search” to display available rooms shown as boxes on the chart.


Reservation Colors & Border Indicators

The Tape Chart uses different border and background colors for reservations, depending on the reservation state.


Border colors:

  • Red border – Reservation breaks a rule (e.g., minimum stay not met)
  • Green border – Reservation follows all rules
  • Yellow border – A promotional rate or special condition is applied

Reservation status colors:

  • Green – Reserved
  • Teal – Confirmed
  • Blue – Guaranteed
  • Purple – In-house
  • Grey – Departed
  • Yellow – On Hold
  • Red – Out of Order
  • Black – Blacked Out
  • Light Blue – Group Reservation


Navigation Tools

  • Go to Date: Jump directly to any future date on the chart
  • Refresh: Clears rate-plan filters and restores nightly rates
  • View Options: Choose 1, 3, 7, 15, or 30-day chart views


Unassigned Reservations

The “Unassigned” tab lists reservations that are not yet assigned to any room. Clicking the item displays the reservation and room class abbreviation. 


Drag and Drop a reservation a specific room number on the Tape Chart to assign the room.


Options Panel (Display Toggles)

The options panel controls what information is visible on the chart. All options are on by default.

  • Footer – Shows rooms available and occupancy percentage
  • Header statistics – Displays overall totals at the top
  • Room class data – Shows number of rooms per class and occupancy %
  • Minimum stay rules – Toggles rule display (e.g., “2-night minimum”)
  • Room class grouping – Shows rooms grouped by class or only by number
  • Room condition – Shows whether a room is clean or dirty

Room Information

Each room cell includes abbreviations, room numbers, and color indicators to help staff identify room details quickly.
