Tax Exempt Reservation

Created by Shruti Srivastava, Modified on Tue, Dec 3 at 9:44 AM by Alex Savchuk

A tax-exempt reservation can refer to a situation where an individual or organization reserves services or goods and is exempt from paying certain taxes due to their tax-exempt status.

This often applies to non-profit organizations, government entities, or other tax-exempt entities making purchases or bookings. Alternatively, some countries or states allow long-stay reservations to become tax-exempt.

Only taxes with an active "Exclude when tax exempt" checkbox will be excluded when a reservation becomes tax-exempt.

To make a reservation Tax Exempt:

  • Open a Reservation
  • Go to Details tab of the reservation:
  • Click the pencil icon next to the Payment Method section:
  • Select Tax Exempt from Tax Exemption drop down
  • Enter the Tax Exempt ID
  • Click Save
  • This Reservation  is now Exempt from Tax. Any taxes set to Exclude when Tax Exempt will be voided.
