Congratulations! innRoad and your Expedia account are now directly connected. innRoad has synced your Rates, Inventory, and Rules to Expedia and reservations booked on Expedia will automatically show up in innRoad.
Please read through the following list which includes changes made in innRoad along with items relevant for proper management of Expedia rates and inventory.
- A new rate plan - “Expedia Rate" - has been created. This rate is derived from your Rack Rate and enables rates to sync with Expedia. Expedia extranet settings (set to LAR) will calculate net rate and/or any other offer (i.e., package, corporate, promotion) made available via Expedia. Please continue to manage Rack rates as usual, however, remember that EQC source must be associated to every rate that syncs with Expedia. Also know that the removal of “EQC” source from a rate will NOT make a rate unavailable on Expedia. This can be accomplished by either replacing a rate with another rate or “Blackout” of the dates via Inventory > Rates Grid > Availability.
- Three requirements for your Rack rates to sync successfully to Expedia Quick Connect and all 3rd party channels are:
- Conditional Rate setting must be set to NO
- Rates syncing to 3rd parties cannot be Package Rates
- Rates syncing to 3rd parties cannot have Interval greater than 1
- To create a new room type on Expedia, you would build these through Expedia Partner Central. Once completed, please notify innRoad so we can update this info in innRoad
- Please ensure any Rules set up in innRoad intended to sync to Expedia are associated to the source ‘Expedia Quick Connect’.
- All inventory, rate, and rules updates are to be made only in innRoad. Changes made directly in the Expedia extranet will be overriden by rate/inventory/rules updates sent from innRoad management system. Please let us know if you have any questions or need further clarification and we would be happy to schedule a call to discuss these new features in greater detail.
- If your Expedia Business Model is set up as Expedia Collect, see this article for more information: Expedia Collect and Traveler's Choice Setup Information
- We will set you up with a corporate account, “Expedia, Inc. Merchant” to automatically receive all reservation information with each booking
- .We will also set up a second “Expedia Inc. Merchant” folio with every Expedia merchant reservation. Expedia net charges will post to this “Expedia Inc. Merchant” folio which will also contain the Expedia Virtual credit card details.
- The Merchant folio can be selected from the drop down menu on upper right corner of folio in Reservation Detail.
- This “Expedia Inc. Merchant” folio will not appear with every booking if your property lists with ETP (Expedia Travel Preference) and has Hotel Collect option. With ETP, guests have the choice of making Hotel Collect (retail) or Expedia Collect (merchant) reservations. A Hotel Collect reservation will enter as a typical travel agent (retail) booking with guest credit card information displaying on the guest info page, the sub source will start with an “A” (e.g., A-Hotels.com, A-Expedia.com) and only a guest folio will display. The Expedia Collect reservations will follow the usual merchant behavior described above. The different Expedia programs can be best explained by contacting your Expedia Market Manager.
- If your property is located in New York State & you are set up with an Expedia Collect Business model, Expedia might be collecting and paying your State Taxes. Please make sure to update your State Tax so your Expedia Inc. Merchant account is associated to the “Do Not Apply To” section of the tax build. See article Tax Exempt Accounts for more information
