To create a New Rate, click Inventory at the top of the page, then Rates. This brings you to a list of all the rates created in your system. Choose "New Rate" at the bottom of the screen to begin.

This will take you to the Rate Details screen. Everything in red font is a required field, necessary to create your new rate.

Rate Name is the name that will appear on your list of rates. Guests will not see this - this is for internal use only.

Rate Plan indicates which rate plan this rate will be associated to.

Max Adults and Max Persons relates to how many people can stay in the room covered under the Base Amount. Any additional adults or children's charges can be indicated in the Additional Adult and Additional Child fields (these are charged per additional person).

Display Name is the name that will appear on the folio. You can also add the rate's Policy or Description here.

In the "Apply To" section, you will indicate which Seasons, Room Classes, and Sources this rate will be applied to. Click the "Associate" button next to each of these categories to choose.

There are two other helpful buttons in this section. The first is Conditional Rate. This opens up the "Rate Conditions" section below, which lets you edit minimum or maximum stay lengths, add advance booking requirements, enable a Promo Code, or change the day that check-in would occur for the rate.

The second is the Rate Floor button. This is used for rates whose seasons overlap other seasons when the rate is supposed to be higher. Your innRoad system defaults down to the lowest rate when searching for rates, so to stop it from doing that without breaking up your seasons, turn the rate floor on. Here's an example to demonstrate how this would work:

Say your summer season runs from June 1 to August 31 and you charge $100/night for your standard room during that time. But you want to charge a higher rate for that room of $120/night for Fourth of July weekend. First you would create a rate for the summer season for $100. Then you would create a second rate for Fourth of July weekend for $120 and turn rate floor on. This will stop the system from pulling the $100 and instead tell it to pull the $120 rate for that period of time.

Please Note: If you do not have a Seasons tab in your Inventory Module please follow the instructions found here to create a new rate.
