We connect to a number of hospitality services POS, Keyless Entry, Voicemail, and Minibar through our partner Comtrol. If you will be setting up an interface, please complete the attached Interface Spec Sheet. Please indicate the Make, Model, Manufacturer and Vendor of the systems and check that the hardware requirements are in place. You can verify this information on the Comtrol website:

In order for innRoad to connect to your devices and ensure two-way communication, we need to have access to local resources on the property and network settings per our specifications. Please see attachment for step by step instructions about how to turn remote access on. We will configure, deploy, and support the interfaces you need, however, we’ll typically need support from your Network staff and/or device vendors.

Typically, properties purchase the device (key card, POS, Pbx, etc.) from the vendor then install it on a designated computer at the property. innRoad would then remote access into another, totally separate, PC or server at the property to install Comtrol, our interface software. Comtrol is what is used to help translate the information coming from your device into a language that innRoad can understand and it needs to be pointing somewhere outside the computer it is installed on.

Those two PC's (1. where the device will be set up and 2. where Comtrol is set up) are then typically connected by Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), a suite of communication protocols used to interconnect network devices on the internet.

How to prepare (please refer to attached Spec Sheet):

  1. Open Port 80 (please contact your provider for assistance). This will need to opened for innRoad to post messages to the machine the inferface is running on
  2. Your designated machine will need a public, static IP Address
  3. Set up an admin user for innRoad- see attachment for details
  4. If you have anti-virus software enabled, we will need to know which ones so we can disable during the set-up

Important Information:

  1. If you have existing interfaces set up with a previous provider, your innRoad system must be fully set up before we look at installing your interfaces.
  2. If you have a firewall enabled on your machine, we will need you to remove it during the installation so information can be transferred successfully
  3. You will need to have a dedicated computer reserved for the use of this integration (A mobile machine or laptop will not be permitted)
  4. The machine will need to have Windows 7 or newer as the operating system
  5. We require an administrative user account with administrator rights on the Interface PC (or Server) and will also be required to set up Gotoassist unattended support for accessing the server
