Guest Portal - Kiosk mode

The Guest Portal lets Guests check in or check out on their own devices online using a ilnk.


In Kiosk Mode, a tablet at the front-desk works as a self-service check-in/check-out station. Guests can submit any required information or process payment at their own pace.

Guest experience in Kiosk mode

Finding the reservation using reservation details

Guests see a form to search for reservations by name or reservation number:


 


Once they enter their details, the system will search for a match using provided details.


Only reservations arriving today are shown. Even if the reservation number is correct, but the guest's arrival date is not today, the Guest Portal will not show results. 


If no matches are found, the guest will see an error message with a prompt to enter different search criteria:



If the reservation details are correct and the guest is expected to arrive today, they'll see their reservation details:


Guests tap Check In and continue with the check-in process based on your Guest Portal check-in configuration, as if they had used an Online Check-in link.

How to Setup Kiosk Mode

Kiosk Mode works on any tablet device with a modern browser. Generally, iPads are a great choice.


Make sure that the tablet's back camera is physically accessible. This ensures guests can take a photo of their ID in case this field is required.

After enabling the feature, we recommend doing a test check-in on your tablet device to enable any required permissions for Kiosk Mode to work. For example, you might need to enable taking pictures while using the browser app.


To enable Kiosk Mode:

  • Log in to innRoad
  • Go to Setup
  • Click Booking Engines
  • Click Configure on a Booking Engine you'd like to edit
  • Open the Guest Portal tab
  • Scroll to the bottom until you find the Kiosk section.
  • Click the Kiosk Mode toggle to enable this setting:
  • Open your Guest Portal Kiosk Link on your tablet device and enter the PIN:

Guests will now be able to use the Kiosk to complete the check-in process.
